Celine did not always love going to the dentist. Quite the opposite, actually.

Growing up, her dental visits were filled with anxiety... appointments where she was told to keep opening wide, that it would be over soon, and it wasn't soon, and where her feelings were simply not part of the conversation. That experience stayed with her. So much so that by the time she was a teenager, she had avoided the dental office for nearly seven years.

When she got into dental hygiene school, everything she thought she knew about oral care went out the window. Suddenly she was learning what proper homecare actually looked like — and quietly realizing she had been doing it wrong for years. She was mortified. So mortified, in fact, that she scraped together $600 of her own money, as a broke 17-year-old, to get a private cleaning before the student clinic even started. She was not about to let a classmate be the first to see the evidence.

She remembers sitting in that chair with the urge to make excuses, to explain herself, to apologize for where she was starting from. Instead, her classmate and professors met her with nothing but compassion and respect. No lectures. No raised eyebrows. Just care.

She has never forgotten how that felt.

LuminouSmiles exists because of that feeling.

Celine opened the clinic in NW Calgary with one clear intention, to be the kind of care provider she once needed. A space where patients who have been putting it off for months, years, or even decades can walk in without shame and leave feeling genuinely supported. Where children build a positive relationship with oral health from the very beginning. Where families who want natural and holistic options have a place that actually understands them, because there is never just one way to go about anything.

Her approach blends evidence-based traditional dental hygiene with holistic and natural alternatives, because she believes every patient deserves to choose what feels right for their body, not be told what to accept. Whether you are curious about fluoride-free options or completely comfortable with conventional care, Celine meets you exactly where you are.

When she is not at the clinic, Celine is home with her two young children, trying new recipes, planning her next beach escape, or belting out karaoke with absolutely zero shame!

Jasmine Boloori, RDH

Jasmine has been practising dental hygiene for over 15 years and the longer she does it, the more curious she becomes.

She graduated with honours from Coastal Bend College in South Texas in 2008 and completed her local anesthetic certification at the University of Alberta in 2014. Since then, she has continued to deepen her knowledge through formal bio-holistic dental hygiene training and certification... because for Jasmine, learning is not something that stops after school.

Bio-holistic care is not a buzzword for her. It is a genuine framework for understanding how oral health connects to the whole body: the gut, the immune system, inflammation, overall wellness. She is always exploring, always reading, always bringing something new back to her patients. At the same time, she is deeply grounded in traditional dental hygiene practice. Her care is thorough, precise, and built on solid clinical foundations. The two approaches do not compete; they complement each other, and Jasmine holds both with equal care.

What patients notice most is how much she talks them through the appointment. Not as a script, but because she genuinely believes that when a patient understands what is happening in their own mouth, everything changes. They leave more confident, more motivated, and more connected to their own health.

For patients who feel nervous, Jasmine's unhurried and patient approach makes a real difference. She adapts completely to the person in the chair, taking the time they need, answering every question, and never making anyone feel rushed or judged for where they are starting from.

Outside the clinic, Jasmine is trying (and still trying) to catch her first fish, playing tennis with her partner for the fun of it rather than the score, and cooking up something new in the kitchen.

Rhona Guzman

The face behind the phone! Originally from the Phillipines, she's a vibrant professional with a passion for nature and a zest for life. Rhona finds joy in exploring the great outdoors through hiking and traveling, embracing the beauty of the world around her. When not immersing herself in nature, she can be found engrossed in the pages of a good book.. fun fact: she can usually finish a book in a day!

Beyond her love for literature, Rhona is an avid fan of Korean TV series dramas, and despite admitting she may not be the best singer, Rhona revels in the joy of singing, showcasing her carefree and fun-loving spirit. She also has a keen eye for visual storytelling, expressing her creativity through photography and video editing.

In the professional realm, Rhona has worn many hats, gaining extensive experience in customer service, social media management, and teaching English. Her diverse skill set reflects her adaptability and versatility in various roles, making her a valuable asset to us! Rhona Guzman is not just a professional powerhouse but also a nature enthusiast, bookworm, and a creative soul with a affinity for life's charming subtleties.
